SAI OUR BELOVED AVATAR
I can't think of any organization I have come across that is quite like Sathya Sai Baba Organization. Tireless, devoted devotees working in unity providing Divine satsangh weekly for all devotees. Recently, Region 3 has been featuring alumni's from Sathya Sai Baba higher education institutions. These precious students share their experiences with Bhagavan and bring joy into our lives.
Swami's Bangaroo, the golden dust of his feet, in essence Swami giving us His darshan through His students. What's interesting too, is things going on in my life are touched upon in these talks. For instance the last speaker on Sunday touched on having equanimity and being happy in all situations knowing that Swami is with us. And just the night before, my husband who is exploring the "Power of Intention" asked me what my highest intention was. Since I have been facing some health challenges, I said "equanimity" and voila the subject of equanimity came up during the talks. I also added, learning to express Divine love and good health. I haven't been writing as much due to neck pain and not wanting to be on the computer for long periods of time. But, I got the message from Swami that He would like me to write. One interesting leela that happened recently I would love to share with you.
I have been reading the books, Sathyam, Sivam, Sundaram. Absolutely divine rendering of Swami's life by N. Kasturi. So many details and wonderful accounts make this a really worthwhile reading. In the first book of Sathyam, Sivam Sundaram I came across a chapter where Kasturi describes the ocean paying homage to Sri Sathya Sai Baba and the God Varuna offering a Garland of pearls at his lotus feet. This really thrilled my heart because I had an amazing dream when I was on a cruise ship, I saw this huge being emerge from the ocean scrutinizing the ship. The being had seaweed colored skin shoulder length hair very intense eyes and was very well built. I looked up Hindu gods and Varuna came to mind. So I figured, but was not sure that this being I saw it in my dream was Varuna. This was such an incredible experience I created a painting of the God Varuna and Sai Avatar.
In the book, Kasturi writes: "A word about that adjective, 'wonderful': The devotee was referring to a very dramatic, indeed astounding miracle that happened at Kanyakumari. In the evening when the sky had turned into a carnival of pink and purple, and the clouds had decorated themselves with golden fringes, Baba proceeded to the sea-shore and with his Bhaktas around Him, played with the waves of the seas that mingle there. Each succeeding wave seemed to be more eager than the previous one to touch His lotus feet, and to offer him its own special homage. Suddenly, as if aware of the yearning of the seas, Baba stood facing the waters and said to those beside him, "See! the Ocean is welcoming Me, with a Garland." At the very moment one could discern a stately wave a few yards away, advancing majestically towards the shore and soon it swept Baba's Feet and receded. Imagine the wonder and amazement of everyone when they found, round Baba's feet a bewitching pearl garland, swaying and swinging with every surge of the waters around Them! One hundred and eight translucent pearls, each a priceless gem, strung on a thread of gold! O, how charming Baba looked! the Avathar of the Lord receiving the homage of Varuna again!"
Sathyam, Shivam, Sundaram, Kasturi, P. 245-246.
Dearest devotees of the Lord, we must cling to Swami's Cosmic form, and take succor in knowing that He is always, always with us. And we are indeed blessed.
Sai Blessings,
