SAI, CENTER OF UNBROKEN PRAISE
OM SAI RAM! Blessed Bhaktas of Lord Sri Sathya Sai Baba!
What a beautiful dream our Lord Sai bestowed this morning. Recently, I have been trying to discipline myself, I promised Swami when I felt better I would try to get up as close to Brahma Muhurtam (3am - 6am,) as I could.
I was not feeling well earlier this week, so, I was waiting until I felt stronger to
implement this promise. Rising early is truly hard for me, I tend to resist going to sleep. I can't fully blame this on working the night shift for half my life, because I remember this same resistance as a child, so Swami knows. Anyway, this morning around 5am He roused me with a sweet dream.
In the dream, I was working on a project with groups of people, this part of the dream is kind of vague. There was a long line with people checking out and I joined the line. A young man began talking to me. We talked at length on spiritual subjects. I told him that if he wanted to have a deep, sincere, strong connection and attunement with God I could share a very effective spiritual exercise with him. He listened intently. I told him to focus on the image of the God whom he adored for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then, I said, "I personally choose the image of Sathya Sai Baba for this purpose."
I went on to describe how by doing this we can feel an immediate connection with God. As I spoke, I could feel, sense and see Swami around us confirming what He has said: “God is in you, around you, behind you, above you, beside you.”
This was the essence of the dream, then Swami sweetly woke me up in Brahma Muhurtam so that I could further attune with Him in this manner. Gently, I found a photo of the Lord whom I adore and focused on it while chanting His darling name. As I gazed at Swami's photo, I could feel Sathya Sai Baba illumining the dark shadows within, filling me with light, purifying and showering His love all around. I continued contemplating on His form, the words, "Center of Unbroken Praise" flowed through my consciousness. I remembered that these were lyrical lines from the hymn "Joyful, Joyful we adore Thee."
Brimming with Love for our Swami I burst into the joyful melody of this song.
This exercise is a very potent way to connect with Swami, He recommends it. Of course, He also urges us to progress beyond the form since God is truly formless, eternal and transcendent.
