SAI BILVA LEAF LEELA
Om Sai Ram
This was an amazing Leela regarding Lord Sai Shiva and His wonderful past times.
As you may know I have been watching the Shiva Mahapuran series with English subtitles produced by Hariharan.
It is so uplifting and inspiring, I decided to do Lord Shiva adorations. Using the mantra Om Namah Shivaya, I placed petals from blossoms in my garden at the sacred feet of Lord Sai Shiva 108 times. In the Shiva series, it is stated that Lord Shiva adores bilva leaves. I started to have a yearning for bilva leaves for my Lord Shiva adoration. I searched the internet for bilva leaves, bilva trees and it became too complicated to pursue.
Then I kind of vaguely remembered a Sai devotee who lives down the block from me pointing out a tree to me in his front yard and saying it was a bilva leaf tree. But I wasn't sure, I asked his wife and she wasn't sure and since he was away, it was an enigma.
Couple weeks passed and I forgot about it. I still continued doing Lord Shiva adorations with flower petals. And one day I was trying to fix our Buddha fountain, water was flowing out in a weird way, so I figured I needed to put something under it to balance the water flow. I ran to the backyard and looked for something flat. I found a religious Lord Shiva tile, and said to myself maybe this, and then as I was carrying it to the front yard I had a misgiving about using it this way. But, I proceeded anyway. Then as soon as I inserted the Lord Shiva religious tile under the Buddha fountain. I stepped backwards and had such a sharp pain in my hip. Immediately, I felt that I should take the tile out and put something else that was blank. I went into my house and rubbed a little cream on my hip but it still was quite painful. We took out the religious tile and put a blank tile in its place as I walked back into the house with the Lord Shiva religious tile, my pain suddenly disappeared.
Thank you Lord Shiva I whispered prayerfully.
This impressed upon me how careful we have to be handling and respecting the religious murthis we possess. The murthis are not Gods but God is present in the murthis.
Later on that night, the wife of the devotee called me out of the blue and said, that it was a bilva tree in front of their house. And, that I was welcome to come anytime and collect bilva leaves. I was in ecstasy, Bhagavan Sai Shiva answered my fervent prayer. The omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent Lord is always with us.
