How To Raise Your Vibration - by Beverly McLean
Sugar is the biggest cause of depression. Please discuss this with your children and gradually eliminate sugary processed foods (cookies, candy bars, etc.) and starches (potatoes and too much rice), which turn into sugar when they reach the stomach...
Exercise outside in the sunshine for one hour. Look at things far away while walking. A slow walk is okay. This actually cures depression!
MIT did a study which found people who feel depressed hold their head down. When a person holds their head up they can’t be depressed. This was a huge thing for me to learn as it seems so simple yet it actually is really true.
An inversion table where you can hang partially so your head is below your feet makes us feel better. Another thing to do is rebounding on a mini trampoline for five minutes. This will quickly raise your spirits. Read books that cover something positive. Even one page per day first thing in the morning will start us off with positive thinking rather than the old monkey mind replaying old garbage. You can start the day with a quote from Sai Baba, Buddha, Jesus or some writer who inspires you. There are lots of books out there that help us focus on good stuff.
I also get a couple of daily emails for free to start the day off with. Usually they are just a line or two. One is TUT by Mike Dooley. Website to sign up is www.tut.com Abraham’s website is www.abraham-hicks.com Also www.jovius.org is a really worthwhile daily message.
CD’s get us to focus on the positive also. One I really enjoy is “The Magic of Believing.” I keep that playing in the car. It was actually a book written long ago by Claude M. Bristol, available thru Amazon.
Music helps us tremendously, especially our favorite song. Singing helps us more than we realize. When we hear bad news, our vibration drops way down. By focusing on good things we can change that easily. This takes only a small effort with very worthwhile results.
Laughter, remember the expression Laughter is the Best Medicine? Laughter is being used to successfully treat cancer patients by watching comedians and funny movies. The good old belly laugh is very healing to our bodies. It creates an alkaline body. Illness can not live in an alkaline body. If you can’t laugh, at least smile. Focus on smiling all day long!!!!
Get a massage. Trading off with friends is easy on the pocketbook. We all have healing capability even if we haven’t been schooled in that field……. Play with your pet. Arts and crafts are a wonderful tool. Dance, even at home by yourself. Gardening – digging in the soil. Situations in our lives change for the better when we do these things.
Replacing negative thoughts with good, positive thoughts takes a little practice, but it becomes natural after a little while. Remember we weren’t born with negative thinking. It was learned.
21 day Challenge: No Complaining, Gossiping or Criticizing. If you participate in one of these behaviors, start the 21 days over.
Be VERY careful on the 20th day! :))
Really listen to your mind chatter.
In the event that you become trapped in your mind’s ramblings, recognize that the rambling can just as easily be about truth, love and the joy of inhabiting that human body of yours. What appears to be so terrible is just a perspective. Pay attention to what is verbalized in your head. Allow yourself to begin self talk that is loving and supportive. For example, you can affirm - "I love and accept myself unconditionally." Or create a positive affirmation that you like! We are amazing creatures of creation.
Remember-
IF YOU ARE DEPRESSED, YOU ARE LIVING IN THE PAST.
IF YOU ARE ANXIOUS, YOU ARE LIVING IN THE FUTURE.
IF YOU ARE AT PEACE, YOU ARE LIVING IN THE PRESENT.
Living in the present is a gift we can give to ourself just by becoming aware of this wonderful moment!
