LOVELY LEELA, GURU POORNIMA 2016
Om Jai Sai Ram Beloved Sai Bhaktas,
Swami blessed us with a lovely Leela the day before Guru Poornima. We were in Washington DC for our niece's wedding and a nice vacation. It was early Monday morning, we were on our "hop on hop off" Bus Tour of Washington DC. I said to David, "oh I wish I could have a flower for my hair." There were very beautiful moon white Magnolias floating with heavenly splendor in the majestic trees and parks of Washington DC. I declared, "oh boy it would be nice if one fell from the tree." Of course that didn't happen. Washington DC is brimming with exquisitely beautiful trees and flowers. There are lush gardens throughout the capitol city. Aromatic magnolia trees and fragrant pink and white Crepe Myrtles plus much more.
Later in the day, we got caught in a white crepe myrtle shower of petals. We visited the Jefferson Memorial and then really got caught in a rainstorm. After the rain shower we were able to tour the Lincoln Memorial, also earlier in the day Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.
On our way home after a thoroughly enjoyable day we took the Metro and as we were walking towards the hotel there were gorgeous stone planters lining the city streets with flowers in them. For some mysterious reason I stopped and looked at one of them and lying right there was a freshly cut red rose with dew glittering on it's petals. There were no other roses in the planter just violets, coleus and ivy the rose appeared to be just laying there waiting for me. Immediately I knew this had to be a gift from Baba.
I put the rose in a water bottle vase and placed in front of our photo of Swami at the hotel. Needless to say, it was pinned in my hair the next day on Guru Poornima. We enjoyed a blissful cruise up the Potomac river to Mount Vernon (George Washington's home) where we celebrated Guru Poornima with the Father and Guru of the USA, George Washington.
