I AM GOD
Recently, I have been singing the bhajan I Am God softly to myself. In this whirlwind world
it is easy to forget this truth and get caught up in the mundane drama that surrounds us on a continual basis. I am particularly speaking of the presidential drama here in the U.S.A. It's been one outrage after another and it is extremely difficult to ignore the harm and chaos caused to this country I love.
Yesterday, I turned on the television one too many times and of course became upset by the political events unfolding. Then, last night I awoke early after a fitful sleep around 2AM, I looked at the huge photo of our Lord Sai hanging next to my bed and thought to myself, "hmmm I haven't had a dream with You in some while." Feeling somewhat awake and restless I reached for my handy cell phone. As I surfed the phone I accidentally clicked onto a video from my Facebook news feed of Lord Sai giving Darshan. I watched the video feeling an overwhelming sadness and bliss pervade my bed chambers. So much love and divine sweetness poured over me. After this, I saw that Bombay Srinivasin a great Soul connected with the Sai Trust had merged at the Lotus Feet of Bhagavan Baba.
"Swami", I said to myself as I turned off the phone and prepared to go back to sleep, "You are the only thing that is real, God only exists, please help us to realize this truth." Then, in the wee hours of the morning I gustily started singing the bhajan, "I Am God" and soon drifted off into dreamland.
Divine Swami came in my dream: I was sitting in darshan with another person waiting for Swami to come. As we waited I fell asleep. At one point, I suddenly woke up, there was Lord Sai in all His sunshine glory giving beautiful darshan to all the honeybee devotees. I drank in the nectar of this vista so happy I hadn't slept through His resplendent darshan. The person next to me sat up and said, "where is Swami?" by that time He had floated off. We both ran outside to see if we could find Him again. Then I started waking up.
Divine butterflies we must take every opportunity to be vigilant to the blessed presence of the Lord. This realm is one of mist and maya. It is so easy to get sidetracked and lost in the alluring jungle of our mind and predilections. God is our eternal truth and reality.
I Am God
I am God, I am God, I am no different from God,
I am the Infinite Supreme, the One Reality
I am Satchidananda Swaroopa
I am Om Tat Sat Om
I am Love. I am Truth. I am Peace eternally.
I am ever pure Delight. I am always full and free.
Fear or grief can never touch me.
I Am Om Tat Sat Om
