I had to re-motivate myself to do more exercise and resist Summertime treats aka ice cream! As the old saying goes: "One slip of the lips, a lifetime on the hips!" Now I have found a good solution: I do a 40 minute walk in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening, plus regular exercise at the gym.
The point is if you fall off the wagon don't beat yourself up or slip into despair. Work on re-motivating yourself. Look at photos of yourself now and when you were much lighter. Whet that desire for a slender form. Remember you deserve to live a long, healthy life and eating right along with good exercise will add years to your life.
Before you reach for food pause and ask yourself, Am I really hungry?" "What is my true need." Sometimes we try to fill the hole in our emotional and spiritual beings by substituting food for the connection we really need. It could be we really need companionship, creative expression, financial security or a host of other needs. If you can figure this out it will go a long way to curbing binge eating.
