CELESTIAL PORTAL
Sairam Beloved Embodiments of Lord Sai
I would like to share an interesting but peculiar experience that happened recently to me.
Last night, Good Friday, I had just completed putting the finishing touches on the painting, Swapeneshwari, Who Am I?
I went into the kitchen to wash some dishes in the sink. I was home alone with our kitty Rama. As I looked up from the sink towards the corridor between the puja room and David's bedroom, I saw a figure approaching. I let out a little scream really thinking someone had come in through the window. I walked towards the little alcove, there was no one there and both room doors were closed. That's strange I thought to myself.
Later, when David came in I told him about the experience and then soon forgot about it. It was a beautiful evening, although stars were scant in the cloudy skies the moon was full and golden illumining our garden and the heady scent of jasmine held us spellbound. Earlier, when I was executing the painting I kept asking Swami to take me into the stars - to celestial realms of extraordinary beauty. These planes are all around us, astounding heavenly vistas. Divine passages to another world.
It was getting close to midnight I started getting ready for bed, the next day I had planned to attend a full moon puja at the Yoga Shakti Ma ashram. Sinking into my bed I soon dozed off. At a certain point during the night I felt my door open. There was a kind of roaring sound like surf outside my door and then I heard someone come quickly into my room. I couldn't actually make out who it was. The person came over to me and touched me on my spine, about waist point. It was so unexpected again I let out a scream.
I woke up briefly, but then returned to dreamland. There were no more incidents after that.
Here is a description of the painting, Swapeneshwari, "Who Am I?" The Goddess Swapeneshwari presides over the world of dreams. She answers our sincere questions. In this painting I pose a question to the starry Goddess: "Who Am I?" Seated in Her golden chariot she holds the key of Love, amid the all seeing eyes & hearts of the universe. On the threshold of a new birth Sri Sathya Sai Baba awaits the liberated
Souls ascending towards Him and the Realization of Divine Oneness. The Egyptian Sphinx
also asks the question "Who Am I?" of all beings, before devouring all false identification in the
cycle of reincarnation. life, death and rebirth.
